We have begun to organize an online journal at NCF. At first, it was thought we might try to post several articles a week, much in the style of a college newspaper. But as we took a closer look at our resources, it became clear that such a publishing schedule would be exhausting and promote burnout. Even more importantly, it would probably kill the lightness and enthusiasm one needs for great storytelling.
That is ultimately what I hope we will pursue: Storytelling. I love the thoughtful and provoking writing which comes from Mockingbird
When one is struggling just to produce and keep on schedule, how can one be truly creative, free and reflective.
I want our writers to come from a place of delight and service, and not obligation.
Sara Grove’s How can I tell captures the spirit of this storytelling spirit which comes from overflow rather than deficit.
Blessings with your journal. Creative writing has such an amazing ability to bless both writers and their readers.
