Come back in an hour and I’ll tell you.
It is my dream to continue as a college teacher; yet there is no guarantee I shall. What I do believe is that wherever I end up, I will find my gifts made useful.
What a funny phrase, ‘where I end up’.
- a career is no such ‘end’
- nor does one spend the whole or the rest of one’s time in such a career,
- nor is there a guarantee that such a career will be final one
None are promised a dream job, none are promised an ideal or fulfilling career. It is often difficult to remember that fulfillment is in God and in our service to His people. But how can I ever be happy, if I don’t have such-and-such a job. It is not God’s job to bring it about. Others suffer loss of a friend or a spouse, others loss of a child or never having such blessings.
Yet I fear and grieve even what I have not yet lost, and so I turn my life and will over to God once again. My Father will provide, and whatever it is, it shall be Good.
